Where, When, Who and What?
Before writing any script it is important to first establish three elements, these are.

1 Location (Where and When)

2 Characters (Who)
Names
Ages
Relationship

3 What happens? (What)

Interior. College. Evening

Lucy is tired and sleepy. She looks around the place slowly.

Lucy
(Sleepy/Tired)

She’s sitting in reception. Looks to her left and sees Joe (janitor). Looks at him for a while then looks to her right and stares through the window.

Joe
(Calm)

He starts to walk. At the same time as he exits the reception area and starts to walk down the corridor he looks at Lucy. On the way he bumps into three people.

Narrator

This young and healthy looking person actually is a loner and he likes it. He likes eating alone at lunch times and don’t get it wrong. People didn’t cast him out; he’s the one who brought rejection on himself.

(Flashes of Derek in afight)

Joe

He walks and bumps into the second person. A girl.

Narrator

Looks like an angel right ? Well, the next time you hear people saying don’t judge a book by its cover, use the knowledge. This girl could beat any guy at (name of the game). At least in the college.
(Flashes of Tania playing a (name of the game))

Joe

He walks further as he bumps into the third person.

Narrator

This guy here is so punctual; he thinks his life depends on being in a right place, at the right time.

Joe

Joe carries on walking down the corridor and (turns/goes/takes the elevator) to his room.
Protagonist/Antagonist Profile

Fight Club

Antagonist

"All the ways you wish you could be, that's me. I look like you wanna look, I f*ck like you wanna f*ck, I am smart, capable, and most importantly, I am free in all the ways that you are not. "I am Jack's alter ego. I get bored, I kill Jack...Mayhem. Chaos. Soap. The title line sums it up what he leaves out about himself. He is upset with the world the way it is and will not be satisfied until the world is back in primative times... Without hitting rock bottom there can be no evolution, no resurrection. Role: this character is an imaginary friend of a very ordinary man. He’s got a very individual prospective to the world. The lame version of Tyler (narrator) he is always very impressed with Tyler because he’s free and not tied up with the thoughts of “what about tomorrow”.

Flaws: Tyler’s flawed in the same way as we all are. The proof in these words is the (narrator). If Tyler’s doing something wrong, that means the (narrator) wishes for it to happen deep down inside.

Relativity to the film: the whole film tells us that whenever you think there’s a barrier between you and you achieving something, that barrier comes out to be yourself. So this Tyler is just a metaphor for (narrator’s) madness and calling for help and attention.

Hitman

Protagonist

Role: 47’s role in the film is – a hired assassin. He works for the company only known as “The Organisation” and is raised to do what he knows best – to kill. But the twist comes when 47 realises he’s been set up and the witness he had to eliminate, might have some answers to 47’s questions. From an antagonist, to a protagonist.

Flaws: only that he has grown up in a wrong environment. He does not know how to follow his heart nor his feelings or intuition, he only knows how to follow the orders he’s been given.

Relativity to the film: the film takes us through 47’s line of decisions. Even when we think that 47 is taking initiative, he’s still basing on the knowledge and experience, not his feelings to find out that he’s been set up.

The Brave One

Protagonist

Role: A vigilante in search of revenge.

Flaws: Erica has lost belief in right or wrong. Because of the loss of her fiancé she feels angry on the whole world now.

Relativity to the film: the whole film tells us about how one thing/loss of something can change the way a person feels and acts. This is another story told by a woman who is tired of being scared of crossing a road, walking home at night and her actions to prevent that fear. By the time she realises that what she’s doing is right, Erica has most of the city agreeing with her judgment.
